PATH Board Members play an integral role in the organization. They don’t just attend board meetings — they volunteer at our community events, provide valuable insight into the needs of the community, and even send thank you notes to donors. Over time, board members become a valuable part of the PATH team, and saying goodbye isn’t easy. Over the past few months, we’ve said fond farewells to several board members whose terms have ended or who have moved on to exciting new challenges.

Earlier this fall Xan Robinson, who represented the Yancey County School district on our board for many years, decided to take a step back from board service in order to focus her attention on her new position with the school district. Xan is a powerhouse of positive energy, and we know she’ll do well in her new role.

Oscar Weinmeister, who most recently served as PATH’s Secretary/Treasurer, was recently accepted into service as a Foreign Service Officer with the US State Department. We are so proud of Oscar and excited for his family’s new adventure. We will sure miss their contributions to our community!

And finally, we want to thank Dan Graham, Julia Norris, and Allison Sharp, whose three-year terms on the Board of Directors have ended. Dan will continue to serve as the volunteer leader of our Cougar Fit Club at Mountain Heritage High School. Dr. Sharp has decided to join family practice in Hickory, NC. Julia will continue to be actively engaged in community service.
