Did you know that you can make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to a charity? Compared with donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction! Here’s an explanation of how it works. Contact us if you would like to discuss this option or if you would like us to help facilitate this type of donation through our investment manager.

Stock Donation

Did you know that you can support our mission and reduce your taxable income by making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA? If you’re 73 or older, IRS rules require you to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) each year from tax-deferred retirement accounts. These RMDs can increase your taxable income and potentially push you into a higher tax bracket. However, by making a QCD directly from your IRA, you can satisfy your RMD while reducing your tax burden and creating a lasting impact on our work.
