Home Remedies: Community Options Addressing Pain and Stress has published an online course with strategies for pain management and stress reduction, presented by local complementary health providers. These practices include physical therapy, massage, mindfulness, examination of thought patterns, nutrition, Tai Chi, and Qigong. This course is freely available to access at your own pace and convenience.

Practice at Home

The course introduces a variety of modalities to explore and find what works for you.

Each content course includes a brief guided mindfulness practice, overview of the topic, presentation by a local complementary health provider with guided practices that you can try at home, and supplementary resources to learn more.

Virtual Panel Sessions

These recorded sessions offer an opportunity to interact with complementary health providers in real time, hosted via Zoom.

Each panel session features a conversation among four complementary health providers and the opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

Community Clinics

Community clinics offer an opportunity to “sample” complementary health modalities.

These events are held throughout the calendar year, watch our website and facebook pages, or Mitchell and Yancey local news for the next date and location!

Voucher Program

Meet these criteria to become eligible to receive free vouchers that can be redeemed for individualized treatment sessions or movement classes!

Participants who complete at least six of the eight content courses, complete all surveys, and reside in Mitchell or Yancey county will be eligible to receive free vouchers ($400 value). These vouchers can be redeemed with participating providers to attend treatment sessions or movement classes. Availability of vouchers is dependent upon funding; vouchers will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
