Cougar Fit Club

The Cougar Fit Club is an afterschool program that strives to foster healthy habits in Mountain Heritage High School students through physical activities and peer-to-peer focused discussion. The program brings together educators, counselors and fitness experts to support students in their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Students who take part in Cougar Fit Club will enjoy a place and environment that supports all participants in becoming and staying healthy and well in both their bodies and minds.  In order to achieve this, each session is designed to provide time for free healthy snacks, group discussions focused on making healthy choices regarding stress, relationships, school, peer pressure and substances, group and individual fitness opportunities (hiking, weightlifting, flexibility, cardio work, & other fitness styles) along with group sports and games.

Students taking part in the program will receive a free healthy snack, free transportation, and a free membership to the Fitness Center during the school year as long as they remain an active member in the club. Cougar Fit Club is a partnership between Mountain Heritage High School and Partners Aligned Toward Health (PATH). Mountain Heritage High School and PATH staff coordinate, lead and participate in every session with the students.  Funding for this program is made available through PATH, so this opportunity is free of charge to all participants.
