Jacquie LopezMeet Jacquie López

Home Remedies Program Coordinator

I originally hail from upstate New York, by way of Washington DC. I moved here to be close to nature and part of a supportive and fun community, and I picked the right place!

While fully immersed in a high profile IT career in DC, a debilitating skiing accident stopped me dead in my tracks. Facing multiple surgeries and a long recovery, my surgeon suggested I try Yoga. Well, the first time I sat down to be quiet with my mind, I was stunned to realize how difficult it was up there and became so curious! Thus began my long love affair with meditation and Yoga, and continues to be an important way I support my healing from injury and manage the ongoing pain and anxieties of this life.

My own teaching is centered around helping others become less afraid and more curious about their own [painful] inner experiences through meditation, breathing practices, and gentle, gentle movement.
With PATH, I hope to bring this experience together in support of the Home Remedies Program, to collaborate with local providers to showcase the best complementary health modalities our area has to offer and open the windows of access to everyone who wants to live joyfully alongside challenge. I believe that pain might be inevitable, but suffering is totally optional.
